Assistant Coach - Roger Tims
BVSC '04 Boys & BVSC '05 Girls Coaches
Head Coach - Robert Markum
Playing Experience: Laramie Blizzard, U13-U18; Laramie High School, 2 Year Starter (1993 4A All-State Second Team - Center Midfield); Wyoming ODP U16 & U17 Player
Coaching Experience: 1 season AYSO U12, 1 season AYSO U13 & 1 season BVSC '04 Girls
Coaching License: National "D" License
Favorite Team(s): OGC Nice, Columbus Crew SC & U.S. Women's National Team
Favorite Player(s): Dimitar Berbatov (Unattached), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City & Algeria), Tobin Heath (Portland Thorns & USWNT) & Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City & Argentina)
Best Soccer Memory as a Player: My best memory is being cheered by an opposing coach for scoring a diving header against his team as a 14 year old player. I was astonished that a coach in a competitive game where my goal put our team in the lead would cheer for a player on the other team. It has always stuck with me as the perfect representation of good sportsmanship and loving the game itself (and the game's beautiful moments) more than the results.

Assistant Coach - Jeremy Wright
Playing Experience: Coach Wright has been playing soccer since he was 5 and plans on playing in the afterlife. His first soccer team was named “He-Men”. From there he played with numerous different soccer teams in rec soccer until joining club soccer. He has since played for a few different clubs. As a youth he played for clubs Scrapplers and Hotspurs. As an adult he played for clubs Utah United SC, Pan World FC and Blak Pijeons FC.
Coaching Experience: Coach Wright began coaching soccer as a student teacher at West Jordan High School. As an assistant coach, he thoroughly enjoyed working with the young men on the team and loved watching them celebrate their successes as a team. He then became the Boys’ Varsity Head Coach at Mohave High School in Bullhead City, AZ. In his first season the team enjoyed tremendous success posting a 13-3 record. After two seasons coaching the Thunderbirds, Coach Wright began coaching AYSO soccer in Mt. View, WY. He has since coached so many teams, he can’t count them all. Coach Wright started coaching for BVSC in the Spring of 2015.
Coaching License: National "D" License
Favorite Team(s): Coach Wright loves soccer and therefore makes any excuse to watch as much as possible. So he has favorite teams in various countries and many leagues across the world. His favorite national teams are USA, Italy, Spain, Argentina, and Ghana. His favorite club teams are Real Salt Lake (USA), Juventus (Italy), Barcelona FC (Spain), and Portland Thorns (USA-Womens).

Best Soccer Memory as a Player: Scoring my first and only hat trick at the age 33.

BVSC '06 Boys Coaches
Head Coach - Cathy Piekkola
Playing Experience: I started playing when I was 5. I played for 7 years then took a break and played other sports until I was a sophomore in High School. I then played Center Midfielder for West Jordan High School. I received the "Academic All-State Award" my senior year. I played on intramural teams at Utah State University. Much later and much out of shape, I joined a women's recreation team and played a season.
Coaching Experience: I started coaching only because I was frustrated with the coaching my son was receiving. I figured I couldn't complain unless I was willing to step in and do it myself. That was the beginning of the end. The club we played with in Utah sent me to receive both my USSF "E" and "D" licenses. I have been blessed to work with some really great coaches. I have not obtained their level of expertise, but I try to implement the things I learned from them. My philosophy is the importance to focus on the player's technical development because a player can't do anything tactically that they can't do technically. As a coach I just love to watch a player develop. I tend to be hard on my players and expect them to practice good technique, but it sure is fun to see them succeed on the field.
Coaching License: National "D" License
Favorite Team(s): Obviously any team I am coaching is my favorite! On a professional level: USA men's and women's teams, Barcelona, and REAL.
Favorite Player(s): When I was a kid, my favorite player was Pele. Currently, I would have to say my favorite player is Messi.
Best Soccer Memory as a Player: Most of my favorite player memories were when I was young. I remember playing in Moon Boots because the field was covered in snow. One time I scored 10 goals in a game. I had one season where I scored 47 goals. I was nicknamed "Big Foot" because of how far I could kick. At that time in my playing career, I was not technically sound. I played a lot of kick ball, and I definitely did not play a position. I was a true ball hog and wherever the ball was.... that was where I was. Funny how kick ball and playing out of position drives me crazy as a coach.
